neverbuy — shop everything, own nothing

i recently shipped neverbuy.online — an ecommerce store that’s intentionally fake.

browse departments. add things to your bag. checkout. track your order. feel the rush.

no money leaves your account; nothing shows up at your door. GST included; goods not included.

where the idea came from

i first came across this concept through Instagram School of Advanced Studies — the Korean-style fake shopping thing where people get the dopamine of buying without the consequences. cart, checkout, satisfaction; minus the parcel, minus the buyer’s remorse.

i couldn’t stop thinking about it. so i built an Indian version.

why it works

real shopping is two things bundled together: the ritual and the object.

the ritual is browse → compare → add → checkout → wait → unbox.
the object is debt, clutter, and a WhatsApp message from your bank.

most of the time, what people actually want is the first part. the feeling of having chosen something. the little hit when you tap “place order.” the fantasy of a life where you already own the silk slip dress, the temple coin necklace, the cutting chai glass set.

neverbuy separates those two. you get the ritual; you skip the regret.

what it is

it’s a full fake store — departments, sales, “new in the warehouse,” wedding cupboard, gold that never leaves the vitrine. pay with UPI, card, or cash on delivery (none of it real). track an order that stays in the warehouse forever.

India’s favourite imaginary store. nothing ships. ever.

this started as a weekend build; i want to keep pushing it.
